With near perfect weather all year round, and beautiful views wherever you look – the Gold Coast is the ideal place to enjoy a few drinks on a roof top where you can catch a cool evening breeze and see the sun set. Roof top bars are a relatively new concept to the Coast, so here are our pick of places to go.

Gotham Bar and Grill

Located in Runaway Bay to the north, Gotham offers a trendy New York style menu with sophisticated cocktails and tasty steaks. The two level venue has an indoor seating area with large glass windows for those who enjoy the view but don’t like the outdoors. Upstairs, you can take in views of the nearby Broadwater and enjoy your delicious food and drinks.

Island Rooftop

In the heart of Surfers Paradise, the recently renovated Island has created a funky rooftop bar just off the main drag, the perfect place to chill out after a day at the beach and enjoy a few glasses of wine. This rooftop bar has a trendy, beachside vibe where you will find all ages enjoying the afternoon sun.

Aviary Rooftop

Labrador might not be the location you would expect to see great views of the coast, but at Aviary Rooftop located on top of Mantra at Sharks, this rooftop bar provides a beautiful view of the coastline and is ideal to spend and evening. With a well-priced cocktail menu and a wood-fired pizza oven – Aviary is a newer entry on the Gold Coast bar scene, but its proved popular since day one, and when you decide to visit, it will be easy to see why.

Mr Pipis

Southport’s hangout Mr Pipis is a popular rooftop bar with a great wine and cocktail selection. With a varied menu of food, this is a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy a few drinks whatever the occasion.
