Visiting the Gold Coast and wondering how you are going to get from place to place? There are many different transport options available on the Gold Coast, and depending on where you want to go, some may be more suitable than others.

The G Link Tram.

G Link has been operating for a number of years and offers connections from Helensvale to Broadbeach where the service terminates. Remember that G Link is a single link and may not cover the locations you want to travel to.

Heavy Rail Services

Queensland Rail operate train services from Varsity Lakes in the south up to Brisbane. The rail option doesn’t pass close to the beach, so you would need to transfer to the G Link at Helensvale if you want to travel to beach side suburbs.

Buses

There are numerous bus services throughout the coast which travel to all suburbs. Bus services may be more infrequent than you are used to, so beware that journey times may be far longer than you expect.

Hire Car

A rental car is a good solution if you plan on doing many day tours during your time on the coast. Hire cars are useful if you don’t want to stick to a schedule, or if you don’t want to make plans and just want to get up and go. Remember that your hotel may charge a parking fee for your hire car, which may be expensive if you haven’t factored that additional cost into your holiday.

Private Tours

Want to enjoy the coast without the worry of navigating or not being sure of the roads? Consider a private tour option which can be customized to your needs. Private tours are sometimes thought of as being expensive, but when you consider that you don’t have to pay for rental, insurance and parking – a private tour can work out to be the most cost effective way to get around the Gold Coast.
