Arriving for a holiday on the Gold Coast and considering your transport options? Here are your options for getting from the airport to your accommodation.

Taxi

Gold Coast Cabs are the local private taxi company that provide services in and around the area. Arriving at the airport attracts a surcharge, and like all taxi services, they charge by distance and time – so depending on traffic and your destination – a taxi may be a more expensive option.

Uber

The main taxi competitor has many operators on the Gold Coast, however if you have luggage, sometimes an Uber can be inconvenient as many of the smaller cars are not suitable for any amount of luggage. If you have a larger group and are thinking of taking an Uber XL – remember that there may be no room at all for luggage.

Private Transfer

Private transfers are offered by businesses for a flat rate, so you know before you travel exactly how much you pay. A luxury minibus will provide plenty of space for your party and their luggage and will take you directly to your accommodation. This is a hassle-free solution that is cost effective and speedy.

Rental Car

Hire cars are available from the airport, but unless you plan to use a car throughout your time on the coast, they can quickly amount to an expensive option. If you are unfamiliar with Gold Coast roads, beware that many people each year get stuck on tram lines, so hiring a car may not be the best option. If you plan to enjoy alcohol on your holiday – remember that someone in your party will need to be designated driver, so again, consider whether a hire car is the best solution for you.
